About this Event
About the Class: Welcome to Lancaster Improv Players' 201 class! This 8-week long course focuses on the more advanced skills of long-form Improv. Students will learn skills which include game of a scene, second beats, heightening, and advanced character work. This class focuses on teaching a ton of scene work skills and will help improvisers think beyond the scene they are in. The class ends with a graduation show where the students can show their friends and family the skills learned. This class requires Improv 101 as a prerequisite or director approval.
Class Schedule: This class runs for two and a half (2.5) hours for eight (8) sessions on Mondays from 7pm-9:30pm. Those dates are 1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 2/22, 3/1. Class show March 7 at 2:00pm.

To qualify for the class show you must:
- Adhere to the Lancaster Improv Players' Code of Conduct.
- Attend at least six of the eight sessions (ideally all eight).
- Attend at least two improv shows during the length of the class. During the class you receive standby tickets for all of our regular shows. These tickets get you into shows for free so long as the show has not soldout!
About the Teacher: Scott Harvey began attending early Lancaster Improv Players’ shows in 2015 before joining the troupe himself in 2018. Scott was one of LIP’s first students and has since completed LIP’s full curriculum. He performs with Lancaster Improv Player's Touring Company, and on the indie team Thomsen Beach Conservatory. Scott also coaches the house team Luxury Gas. Scott taught high school English for six years before becoming an instructional designer. When he is not working or practicing improv, he is probably listening to the improv comedy podcasts Hollywood Handbook or The Teacher’s Lounge.
About The Space: This class will be in our BRAND NEW 8 W King St Location!! It is on the second floor which can be accessed via elevator just a few steps from where you walk in! Full details on the space will be emailed closer to the start of the class, so keep your eyes on your email.
Scholarships: Some scholarships are available to partially or fully cover the cost of the stated class fee. For additional information, please reach out to [email protected] with your request at least a week prior to the start date of the class.
Refund Policy: We will not refund any orders after the start of the first session.
Parking: Street Parking is available and the metering ends Monday-Saturday at 6pm. The parking garages are open! We recommend the Steinman garage. You enter on Vine St and can exit the garage right behind our building! On the weekends the garage is $5 for the full day.
