About this Event
Join us on Turesday, October 27th at 6 PM in the University Union Building on the campus of Sacramento State for our 5th annual Immigrant Stories, an event amplifying the lived experiences of our immigrant community members. Five storytellers will take the stage to share their true personal stories on the theme of this year: courage, strength, and hope. This event is hosted in partnership with the Undocumented Student Resource Center of Sacramento State. It is funded by a grant from the California Arts Council.
ASL intepretation will be provided at the event (and will be visible in-person and via the online platform). We will also offer automatic captioning from Zoom for online attendees. Transcripts of the stories are available on the night of the event upon request. For a copy of a transcript, please email [email protected] 5 days prior to the event.
Event Guidelines:
1) We will not allow disruptions during this event. You will be asked to leave and escorted out if you disrupt the event.
2) No filming or photographs of storytellers unless they have given you explicit permission.
3) No bags larger than 12X12X6 deep unless they are see-through. This means most standard backpacks will not be allowed in the room. Please make plans if you will be with your backpack the day of the event (in other words, you will need to find a place to store it during the event and will not be able to bring it in).
