About this Event
An immersive seasonal acupuncture experience
This September, acupuncture comes to Marshmallow Moon for a completely different kind of immersive experience.
Settle into a comfortable lounger as projected imagery, aromatherapy and an atmospheric soundtrack transform the space around you, creating a sensory environment designed for rest and relaxation.
Our first Immersive Acupuncture experience takes inspiration from the Harvest Moon and the seasonal transition from summer into fall.
For generations, the light of the Harvest Moon helped illuminate the fields as farmers gathered the final bounty of the growing season. It became associated with abundance and gratitude, but also with completion, transition and preparation for the quieter season ahead.
Drawing from these themes, acupuncture points will be thoughtfully selected to help cultivate energy and shore up for the winter ahead.
Once the needles are placed, your only job is to get comfortable and let the treatment unfold. For the remainder of the session, you’ll have uninterrupted time to rest, receive and experience acupuncture within the immersive atmosphere of Marshmallow Moon.
No previous experience with acupuncture is necessary.
Your acupuncturist will explain the points selected for the session and their significance.
Meet Your Acupuncturist
Kara Canga-Arguelles is a licensed acupuncturist, NCCAOM board-certified, and a member of ILAAOM. She also holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Illinois, along with specialized training and certifications in fertility acupuncture and pulse diagnosis.
Kara's own experience as an acupuncture patient first inspired her to study Chinese Medicine and ultimately build a career around sharing the practice with others. Her background in psychology further shaped her interest in the relationship between mind and body within Chinese Medicine.
