About this Event
| What do you do when life doesn’t turn out the way you hoped—and God seems silent? |
The book of Ruth is a story of loss, loyalty, kindness and redemption. Set in the dark days of the Judges, when “everyone did what was right in their own eyes,” Ruth reminds us that even when we cannot see what God is doing, he is still faithfully at work.
For those of us who are struggling, Ruth invites us to trust the God whose purposes are bigger than what we can see, and whose kindness can bring hope in the midst of bitter circumstances.
When life is dark, God is still faithful.
We’d love you to come along to Ignite Training Conference 2027 as we journey through Ruth together and discover what it means to remain faithful in the dark, trusting the God who is always at work—even when we can’t see it.

| Strands |
The core of our conference is our strand material aimed at training people to teach God’s Word faithfully. As you return each year, you will be equipped with skills for exegesis, biblical theology and systematic theology. In partnership with Katoomba Christian Convention, we use proven material which has been used to train generations of leaders.
[Strand 1] - New Testament Exegesis
Learn how to accurately read, understand and then teach a Bible passage.
- If this will be your first time attending Ignite, please select this strand when registering.
[Strand 2] - Old Testament Exegesis
See that the entire storyline of the Bible is about salvation in Jesus, and identify and understand how any given Bible passage fits into this story.
- You must have completed Strand 1 in a prior year.
[Strand 3] - Systematic Theology
Work out how to determine and understand what the Bible says about a given topic.
- You must have completed Strands 1 -2 in previous years.
[Strand 4] - Applying The Word to Our Hearts
Understanding Scripture is only part of the work of teaching and discipling others. We also need to think about how that word applies to the hearts of the people we teach. Strand 4 takes all the tools and lessons of Strands 1-3 and focuses on how it transforms people. We’ll take time to think about how Scripture changes us and work through some exercises applying different genres of Scripture that we haven’t look at so far in Strand groups. These skills will equip you to teach and disciple others more effectively - and hopefully deepen your own walk with God!
- You must have completed Strands 1 -3 in previous years.
[Strand 5] - How to Give a Bible Talk
Strand 5 will help you in communicating the point and purpose of God’s word in a clear and engaging way.
- This strand is available for lay preachers without having completed Strands 1-4.
