Ignite: Count Us In — The National Launch of iRISE™

Public data looks at one category of existence at a time. People carry several at once.

A county can look unremarkable on paper and still be failing the households inside it, because nothing in the record shows what happens when housing, health, income and safety press on the same family in the same place.

iRISE™ — the Intersectional Resilience Index for Social Equity — measures that overlap, county by county. And it doesn't stop at the finding. iRISE™ returns solutions at three levels: what an individual can do, what an organization can do, and what has to change structurally — with current, citable evidence behind each one.

On Monday, November 2, iRISE Data brings the national launch of iRISE™ to Tulsa.

Tulsa is the first of five stops, followed by Charleston, New York, Seattle and Oakland.

This is a city whose history turns on the question of who gets counted, who does the counting, and what is done with the record afterward. It is also a state where tribal nations, county governments, health systems and school districts routinely make decisions from different sets of numbers about the same people.

2:00 p.m. — Doors open · The Oklahoma Data Walk Six large-format boards set through the venue take you from a single county's numbers to a solution you could actually put in a budget. Walk it at your own pace, find your county on the map, and talk with the people standing next to you — who will mostly be doing the same work you are.

2:40 p.m. — The program begins (livestreamed)

• A keynote from founder Dr. Crystallee Crain
• A live demonstration of the national Atlas
• The first public look at how iRISE™ will be governed, including the Community Data Governance Council and the National Advisory Board.

Followed by — 30 minutes of open Q&A, for both the room and the livestream audience.

Finger food and beverages will be provided.

County and municipal staff. Tribal health, planning and epidemiology departments. Hospital and health system community benefit teams writing their next CHNA. Foundations and donors deciding where money goes. Nonprofit directors and program staff. Researchers, students, journalists — and anyone who has ever been handed a dataset that did not describe the community they know.

No background in data is required. Bring a problem you want to solve and let's get to work.

iRISE™ organizes county data across eight domains — economic security, housing, health access, education, safety, environment, social cohesion, and racial and structural equity — and directs attention to the places where burden stacks across several domains at once.

It is already live in Michigan as the Michigan Prevention Data Atlas (midataatlas.org), a free platform covering all 83 counties, and in a 133-county West Coast pilot (irisedata.org). The national build extends it to every county in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

iRISE™ is protected under provisional patent PAI-iRISE-2026-001.
