About the Workshop

Mairimid, smaoinímid agus cruthaímid idir dhá theanga. Sa cheardlann dhátheangach seo, léifimid dánta comhaimseartha Gaeilge agus a n-aistriúcháin Bhéarla, agus fiosróimid cad a tharlaíonn nuair a bhogann dán idir teangacha. An é an dán céanna é an t-aistriúchán, nó leagan eile de? Trí chomhrá agus spreagthaí scríbhneoireachta spraíúla, beimid ag triail le focail, fuaimeanna agus smaointe sula gcruthóimid ár saothar féin. Beidh saoirse againn bogadh idir an Ghaeilge agus an Béarla, agus an dá theanga a úsáid sa phróiseas cruthaitheach.

We live, think and create between languages. In this bilingual workshop, we’ll read contemporary Irish-language poems alongside their English translations and explore what happens when a poem moves between languages. Is a translation the same poem, or another version of it? Through discussion and playful writing prompts, you’ll experiment with words, sounds and ideas before creating work of your own. There is freedom to move between Irish and English, allowing both languages into the creative process.

Strictly for young people aged 14-19.
