Have you got the seed of an exciting business idea? Are you thinking you might want to turn your experiences, your knowledge or your passion into a real business, but unsure where to start?
Join us for a friendly workshop to learn the fundamentals that will help you build a foundation for a successful new enterprise.
However early stage your idea, you’ll learn how to shape your concept into a clear, structured, and practical business plan, using the Business Model Canvas, a simple one-page framework used by start-ups all over the world.
Then we'll help you understand the right structure that would help you start and grow your business idea.
We’ll explore business and legal structures in plain English. From sole-traders, through partnerships and limited companys to understanding when community wealth models such as co-operatives might make sense.
A workshop that keeps things practical so you can concentrate on what actually matters during the early stages.

9:30am - 10:00am: Welcome introductions and setting the scene
10:00am - 11:10am: Introduction to the Business Model Canvas (BMC)
11:10am - 11:30am: Break
11:30am - 1:00pm: What legal structures are right for your business? Including co-operatives and other community wealth building models.
1:30pm - 4:30pm: Optional afternoon drop-in session.
After the session, our expert facilitators will be hosting an afternoon supported group workshop to give you assistance in completing your business model canvas. Get expert support to explore the topics in more depth and bring your business idea to life.
