Join Music Director Bobby Collins for his inaugural concert with the Everett Philharmonic Orchestra – an iconic afternoon of great American and European music!
The concert opens with a stirring arrangement of the “Star-Spangled Banner,” followed by Arturo Márquez’s vibrant and rhythmically infectious Danzón No. 2.
Then, prepare for one of the great showpieces of the violin repertoire: Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, performed by acclaimed violinist Rachel Lee Priday. From its soaring melodies to its dazzling finale, this beloved concerto is sure to be a highlight of the afternoon.
The American spirit returns with John Philip Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever, conducted by Terry DeGrow, who won the auction to conduct the Everett Philharmonic at last season’s annual fundraiser.
The concert concludes with Sibelius’s Symphony No. 2, a sweeping and powerful masterpiece filled with drama, lyricism, and triumphant orchestral climaxes.
From the rhythms of Mexico to the passion of Tchaikovsky, the patriotic spirit of Sousa, and the sweeping landscapes of Sibelius, this concert promises music that will inspire, thrill, and leave you wanting more.
