Fun, music-making activities for children with any degree of deafness.About this Event
We can’t wait to continue our ‘I Can Play!’ sessions at York Music Centre on Saturday mornings. These sessions, for D/deaf/F children and their families, are all about having fun! We enjoy playing musical games, exploring instruments, singing and signing songs, composing our own music, and making new friends!
Autumn Term:
- 12 September 9.45-11.45 at Milthorpe School
- 26 September - Have A Go Day with the Shepherd Brass Bands, 10-12 at Hi-Bay Theatre, Portakabin Ltd, New Lane, Huntington, York YO32 9PT
- 10 October 9.45-11.45 at Millthorpe School
- 28 November 9.45-11.45 at Millthorpe School
- 12 December - Christmas Fun Day / Showcase at Milthorpe School
Timings: 09.45am - 11.45am
Where: York Music Centre, Millthorpe School, Nunthorpe Avenue, York YO23 1WF
Who: Suitable for children with any degree of deafness, their siblings, and Children of Deaf Adults (CODAs).
- All ages (0-18) welcome.
- Parents / guardians of children aged 0-4 must stay for the sessions.
- Parents / guardians of children aged 5 and older are welcome to stay for the sessions but this is not a requirement.
Access: The sessions are delivered in signed and spoken English by Deaf and hearing practitioners and supported by a BSL interpreter.
