Walk together. Remember together. Hope together. 🧡On Saturday 7 November, Tūmanako Whāingaroa invites our community to come together for Hīkoi for Hope, a day centred on connection, support, remembrance and hope for better days ahead.
The hīkoi leaves Stewart St Hall at 10.30am, creating space to walk alongside one another, acknowledge mental health and remember loved ones who have passed.
Along the way there will be an opportunity to release a kawakawa leaf into the harbour in remembrance, or you can light a tea candle back at the hall for someone you carry with you.
With the event falling on election day, you can make it part of your day - join the hīkoi and vote before or afterwards. Hope for the future feels especially fitting.
Back at Stewart St Hall from 10am-2pm, stay for a free community BBQ and salads, live music, wellbeing activities, whānau games, information about support services and some friendly ponies to hang out with.
Come for remembrance. Come for connection. Come to support someone else. Or simply come and be part of it.
