Hāwera Christmas Parade 2026 Theme: Country Christmas
Saturday 12 December, 12pm
Saddle up, dust off the red bands, and get ready for a good old‑fashioned Country Christmas in the heart of Hāwera.
Think tractors dressed for the holidays, straw‑stacked trailers, cowboy hats, gingham, denim, rustic charm and a touch of yee‑haa magic rolling down the street.
All parade vehicles are to meet in the Napier Street Carpark for judging at approx. 11am.
Parade entrants, please bring a hat and water; a country Christmas can get warm under the midday sun.
Giving us a heads‑up about what you’re planning is hugely appreciated; it helps us wrangle the line‑up properly and keep everyone safe.
Note: This isn’t the day for running giant trucks through the parade to advertise, especially if they’re not decorated or don’t bring any Christmas or country spirit. If a vehicle isn’t part of a genuine float or doesn’t add to the theme, please leave it at home.
If you wish to showcase a vehicle, please contact the organiser in advance. We may be able to match you with a float partner, ensuring your vehicle contributes to the Country Christmas theme rather than appearing as an undecorated advertisement.

Country Christmas Parade Prizes $400 awarded to each category:
Best Community Float
Best Business Float
Best Christmas‑Themed Float
If any category has only two entries, a second‑place prize may be awarded to another category at the judges’ discretion.
