About the event

Join us in-person for a hybrid seminar exploring the latest research, teaching approaches, and policy insights related to reading and writing difficulties in primary and early‑years education. This event is organised in partnership with the British Dyslexia Association (BDA).

  • – Professor of Education specialising in literacy, special education, and teacher training at Southern Methodist University’s Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development (Dallas, US).
  • Chief Executive of the British Dyslexia Association (UK).
  • Professor in Psychology and Director of Research at the School of Psychology & Sport Science, Cognitive Neuroscience Institute, Bangor University (Wales, UK).

And our own UCL IOE Balancing Act Initiative team who have just published new work on children with reading and writing difficulties:

  • – Associate Professor, and Programme Leader for the National Award in SEN Coordination, IOE (England, UK)
