This design features a hummingbird sipping from a beautiful, handcrafted glass flower, created by the incredibly talented Margie Ehlers of Marge E Creations at Hot Shops. Each flower is individually torch-worked, making every finished piece truly one of a kind. I’m thrilled to collaborate with such an amazing artist!You’ll have your choice of a variety of flower colors and styles, along with several glass color options for your hummingbird, so you can create a piece that’s uniquely yours. Your finished hummingbird measures approximately 6” wide by 5” tall, making it the perfect size to display in a sunny window or give as a thoughtful handmade gift. This class is beginner friendly—no experience necessary and all materials included! I’ll guide you through every step of the stained glass process, including:
Cutting glass • Grinding • Copperfoiling • Soldering • Applying patina
Finishing with a protective wax coating
Whether you’re brand new to stained glass or have taken one of my classes before, you’ll leave with new skills and a beautiful, unique hummingbird that will brighten any space.
Because stained glass is hands-on work, some basic fine motor skills and hand strength are needed to work with the glass and tools and workshops involve standing for portions of the class. All materials and use of tools are included, so just bring yourself and get ready to create!
