Rather than creating another open-mic style event where artists simply sign up for a slot, the RESET Committee took a different approach: they selected the artists.
The committee has hand-picked at least 10 Houston artists they believe are making a legitimate move in the city right now — artists who are building momentum, developing their sound, creating conversation online, performing in the community, and establishing their own movement.
The artists featured at SELECT were chosen based on more than just music. The RESET Committee has been paying attention to how these artists move, how they represent themselves, how they interact with their audiences, their social media presence, their consistency, their live energy, and their overall movement throughout Houston.
The goal is simple: discover, document, and amplify Houston’s next generation of talent.
MORE THAN A SHOWCASE
SELECT is also being designed as a press and media opportunity for each participating artist.
Throughout the event, featured artists will receive press coverage and media exposure, giving them an opportunity to document their performance and introduce themselves to a broader Houston audience.
The RESET Committee believes that emerging artists need more than a stage. They need documentation, visibility, relationships, community, and opportunities to tell their story.
SELECT is becoming a recurring platform that connects Houston artists with media, creatives, businesses, fans, and other industry professionals.
The RESET Committee plans to produce many more SELECT showcases and community-driven events, continuing to identify artists and creatives who are building meaningful movements throughout Houston.
HTX RESET wants to be part of that process by creating platforms that recognize talent before the rest of the world catches on.
Sponsors & Community Partners: RESET Media, OG Ron C, 5015 Bar, One on One Mike D, Miss Megann and additional community partners.
