Learn how to remove grass without chemicals to prepare for a native plant garden during this hands-on workshop.
About this Event

During this WORKshop, participants will help community partner organizations prepare a site along a sidewalk in the pocket park at the intersection of S. Preston St. & N. Barbee Way for conversion from lawn to native plant landscape. Participants will be guided on at least two methods of lawn removal in preparation for a native plant landscape. Part 2 will be a planting day in the spring of 2027.

This will be an outdoor workshop and participants should come dressed for the weather and ready to work in the soil. Suggested items to bring include:

close-toed shoes; seasonally appropriate clothing that can get dirty; work gloves; shovels; hard rakes; filled water bottle
