In this session, photo industry veteran and former Rangefinder editor-in-chief Jacqueline Tobin shares practical strategies for editing, sequencing, and presenting your work with an editor’s eye.
Learn how to identify the visual thread that connects your work, decide what belongs (and what doesn’t), create a compelling sequence, and tailor your portfolio to the clients, publications, and opportunities you want to pursue.
Jacqueline will also look at how websites, social media, personal projects, and the changing image landscape affect how image-makers present their work in the age of AI.

Jacqueline Tobin
Jacqueline Tobin is a photography editor, writer, and industry expert with more than three decades of experience in the photography industry. She spent 20 years as an editor at Photo District News (PDN) before becoming Editor-in-Chief of Rangefinder magazine, where she spent 12 years shaping editorial coverage and championing photographers at every stage of their careers.
Throughout her career, Jacqueline has reviewed and edited thousands of photographers’ portfolios and served as a portfolio reviewer and judge for organizations and events including the Palm Springs Photo Festival, American Photo, the Association of International Boudoir Photographers (AIBP), and the Shoreline Arts Alliance. She has also participated in several panels and seminars speaking to photographers about self-promotion, marketing, branding, and creative development.
The author of Wedding Photography Unveiled and The Luminous Portrait, Jacqueline is currently a contributing writer for Adorama and continues to work with photographers and creative organizations, including F/262 Festival Internacional De Fotografia, where she a juror on the 2026 Photo Book Awards Jury and the F/262 Photography Awards Jury.
