About this Event
With the possibility of a strong El Niño bringing a wetter winter, preparing for heavy rain and flooding is especially timely. But this event will look beyond the coming winter to a larger question: How can Redlands become a community that is better prepared for the changing climate conditions ahead?
City staff, including Redlands Sustainability Coordinator Kaitlyn Haberlin, will discuss how the City is preparing for possible extreme weather in the coming months and how its Climate Action Plan is helping Redlands build long-term resilience.
We’ll also look at what neighborhoods can do to become better prepared and connected, and share examples of practical and creative ways other communities are strengthening their resilience.
The evening will conclude with an opportunity for audience members to share ideas and join the conversation about what we can do—individually, as neighbors, and as a community—to make Redlands healthier, safer, and better prepared for the future.
The event is free and open to the public. Advance registration on Eventbrite is encouraged.
