About this Event

A child born with a rare genetic disease. A cancer patient running out of treatment options. For many people, the next generation of therapies could offer hope where conventional treatments have reached their limits.

As part of Berlin Science Week 2026, EURICE – European Research and Project Office GmbH invites you to discover the world of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs). Using living cells and genes, these innovative therapies are opening new possibilities for treating diseases that were once considered untreatable.

In this panel discussion, experts from research, clinical practice and innovation will explore the opportunities and challenges of bringing advanced therapies from the laboratory to patients. The conversation will cover scientific breakthroughs, regulation, manufacturing, patient access, and the broader question of how healthcare systems can embrace these transformative technologies.

Speakers:

  • Prof. Dr. Annette Künkele-Langer, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin
  • Dr. Katharina Günther, Green Elephant Biotech GmbH
  • Dr. Alexander Stumpf, SPARK BIH

Language: English

Refreshments and drinks will be provided, offering an opportunity to continue the conversation and network with the speakers and fellow participants after the panel.

The event is open to everyoneno prior knowledge of advanced therapies or biomedical research is required.
