About this Event
This public meeting will be an opportunity to share your thoughts on how best to get people involved in the movement and how best to organise those who are already active. You'll also learn from the experience of socialist and trade unionist activists leading local struggles.
From Trump’s attacks on Iran since February; to the continued violence and slaughter in Palestine to the ongoing gap between our pay and the bills; to crumbling public services being destroyed by cuts and privatisation; to the capitalist-made environmental crisis with both searing temperatures and deadly floods: lives, livelihoods, and living conditions are under unrelenting attack.
Politicians continue to both exploit our anger and defend billionaire profiteering try to whip up division to distract us and weaken our ability to fight back. They attack migrant workers, trans people, and other oppressed minorities, in the hope we will direct our rage there instead of at big business bosses.
Across the world, workers and young people are fighting back. From the resistance to Trump's racist ICE agents in Minneapolis, to the ‘Cockroaches’ movement in India fighting corruption and underfunding, to the youth of Germany walking out in student strikes against militarisation and conscription.
These millions taking action are also discussing and debating how to organise to have the most impact.
Join our public meeting to discuss how we can organise to have the biggest impact here in Birmingham!
Today capitalism is in crisis worldwide – and governments that defend the capitalist system are determined to make us pay for the crisis of their system. The working-class majority has the potential power to bring this rotten system to an end – provided we are organised and united.
