Keep Port St. Lucie Beautiful (KPSLB) makes it easy for City of Port St. Lucie and St. Lucie County residents (IDs required) to get rid of unwanted household chemicals and hazardous waste.Residents don't even need to leave their cars! Just drive up to the drop-off location, and volunteers will help unload any items for disposal, free of charge.
The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day is 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Public Works complex, 450 SW Thornhill Drive.
WHAT'S ACCEPTED:
Ammunition
Automotive fluids
Batteries (rechargeable lithium and vehicle)
Bug sprays
Computers/Electronics
Drain cleaners
Fats, rags, oils and greases (F.R.O.G.): 5 gallons or less
Fire extinguishers
Fluorescent light bulbs/Tubes
Fuels
Herbicides
Insecticides
Lighter fluid
Mercury thermometers
Oil-based paint
Propane tanks (20 pounds or less)
Prescriptions
Solvents/Thinners
Thermostats

Biohazard/Medical waste
Containers larger than 5 gallons
Explosives
Flares
Paint (water-based or latex)
Sharps and syringes
Household batteries (alkaline)
No liquid medications
Tires
