We honor those who walked the path before us.Join House of Zephyros, CHST’s Hellenic Temple, for an evening honoring the Gods of the ancient Greek world, the ancestors of our spiritual traditions, and the enduring cycles of life and death.
As the seasons turn toward the darker months, our October rite turns toward remembrance. We may or may not share blood with the people of ancient Greece, but as modern practitioners of Hellenic religion, we inherit traditions shaped by generations of people who honored the Theoi before us. This evening is an opportunity to remember them, learn from them, and honor the paths they left behind.
Together, we’ll honor the Theoi of the Underworld, explore how the dead and ancestors were remembered in the ancient Greek world, and celebrate the cycles that connect those who came before us with those who are here today.
House of Zephyros rituals are sacred, but they are also social. Our rites draw inspiration from traditional household religious practices, where worship, hospitality, food, drink, and community come together. No previous experience with Hellenic religion is necessary, and newcomers are welcome to observe, participate, ask questions, and learn.
Offerings of food, snacks, or libations to share are always appreciated, but never required. Wine may be used for libations and will be available to participants age 21 and older.
Come raise a cup to the Gods, remember those who walked before us, and share an evening in the spirit of xenia, sacred hospitality.
