Revival House’s 9th Annual Horror Trailer Challenge call for films
Milton, Delaware — Horror film fans unite as it’s time to gear up for the Revival House’s ninth annual Horror Trailer Challenge at the Milton Theatre on Sunday, October 25. Doors open at 1:30 pm, with festivities kicking off at 2 pm. Filmmakers of all levels are encouraged to uncage their creativity with original horror movie trailers, and viewers are invited to witness an evening of macabre moviemaking.
On Friday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. the Revival House will post on Facebook announcing a specific line of dialogue and an item that must be included in all participating entrants. From there, all participants will have until midnight on Oct. 23 to submit their trailer for consideration.
Submitting a film is free, and local filmmakers from around the region will compete for cash prizes. Winners must be present to accept their awards. Trailers should not exceed three minutes in length.
“The Horror Trailer Challenge continues to be one of our favorite events,” said Rob Rector, co-founder of The Revival House. “It allows filmmakers to show off their skills, get creative in a short timeframe, and test the limits of their imagination.” Co-founder Rob Waters added, “Every year, I am amazed at the level of filmmaking we receive for the event. We are fortunate to have such talented filmmakers in our area.”
Doors for the event will open at 1:30 p.m., with the trailers to start screening at 2 p.m. Throughout the evening, the audience will be asked to vote for their top three submissions and, after the votes are tabulated, the evening’s winners will be announced.
The evening will be capped off with a Q&A session with all the filmmakers, who are invited to share their experiences of crafting their creations with the crowd and network with one another. “Even if you don’t have a film entered, it’s a blast to witness and celebrate our area filmmakers and see what they are capable of creating,” added Rector. “We are constantly surprised by the submissions every single year.”
Tickets for the event are available now through the Milton Theatre website. More information will be available on the Revival House website at therevivalhouseteater.com.
