About this Event
In an age where meaning, purpose and hope can seem elusive, how might the Christian imagination help us see the world differently? Drawing on C.S. Lewis, Dr Douglas Henry will explore how the Christian vision restores our sense of wonder, awakens our deepest longings and offers a hope grounded in the reality of God.
Dr Douglas Henry is Dean of Baylor University's nationally recognised Honors College. He holds a BA in Religion from Oklahoma Baptist University and an MA and PhD in Philosophy from Vanderbilt University.
His scholarly work explores philosophy, Christian thought and literature, engaging with writers such as Plato, John Bunyan, Iris Murdoch and Cormac McCarthy. He has authored and edited several books on Christian scholarship and higher education, including Faithful Learning and the Christian Scholarly Vocation. Beyond academia, he is actively involved in his local community in Waco, Texas, including supporting the independent Fabled Bookshop & Cafe.
He is married to Michele, a professor of choral music education at Baylor University, and they have a son. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, running, reading, travelling and college sports.
