HOOP DANCE: FINDING YOUR FLOW w/CharityClass description: Join Charity (aka Knox Hoop Mama) for this 5-week journey into the hoop practice. This five-week series blends playful, meditative flow with solid hoop techniques I’ve gathered throughout my 20yrs as a Hoop Dancer/Performer.

Performance opportunities may emerge as the group develops or shows interest. Come explore the intersection of technique, creativity, and community.

About instructor: Charity Edwards is a Knoxville-based hoop dancer, yoga teacher, and ecstatic dance facilitator with over 20 years of experience performing, teaching, and sharing the joy of movement. Her journey began in cold, wintry Wisconsin where discovering hoop dance offered a life-changing sense of flow and healing. Since then, Charity has performed on many stages, taught community classes and workshops, hosted flow jams (freestyle practices) and shared the spirit of dance at regional music and transformational festivals. Alongside her hoop work, she trained in Vinyasa yoga in Costa Rica in 2013, and now offers slow-flow classes in her home studio in Knoxville, often with her cat Herbie nearby and kava served beforehand to encourage relaxation and connection. Charity’s classes focus on community, accessibility and moving for well-being, balancing cardio with joy and one pointed focus. She welcomes all levels and loves helping people find confidence, ease, and community through embodied movement.
