SIXTH has reserved a picnic shelter for everyone to gather, eat, relax, and connect so come spend the day by the lake with us!
HOOKED is a relaxed fishing and picnic meetup created for Atlanta’s queer community. Whether you want to cast a line, throw something on the grill, enjoy a picnic, or simply sit by the water and unwind, there’s space for you.
No fishing experience is required, and you do not have to fish to attend. This is Georgia's last free fishing day of the year, and would be a great opportunity to learn the sport without a fishing license. Bring your own fishing gear if you plan to fish (we will provide bait & tackle) along with your own food, drinks, and anything else you’ll need to enjoy the day.
This event is free, but RSVP is required. If your plans change, please cancel your reservation.

🎣 Georgia’s Final Free Fishing Day
HOOKED takes place on Georgia’s final Free Fishing Day of the year, making it a great opportunity to try fishing and learn more about the sport without purchasing a fishing license.
📍 Meeting Location
The event will be held at Red Top Mountain State Park. The exact picnic shelter location and arrival instructions will be emailed to registered attendees a few days before the event.
🚗 Parking
Red Top Mountain is a Georgia State Park, so a parking fee or valid Georgia State Parks ParkPass is required. The parking fee is not included with your RSVP.
🧺 What to Bring
Bring your own fishing equipment if you plan to fish, as well as your food, drinks, chairs, grilling supplies, and anything else you’ll need for the day. Fishing is completely optional—you’re welcome to grill, picnic, socialize, or simply relax by the lake.
