About this Event
Honouring Shireen Abu Akleh
Join us for an evening to remember and celebrate the work of journalist Shireen Abu Akleh. The late Shireen Abu Akleh became a household name around the world as a reporter for Al Jazeera Arabic, covering stories across the Palestinian territories. On 11th May, 2022, Shireen was fatally shot by an Israeli soldier while on assignment in Jenin, West Bank, despite wearing a clearly identifiable press jacket.
We will have contributions from journalists, family members, friends and activists, including members of Forensic Architecture, the interdisciplinary research agency based at Goldsmiths, University of London, who carried out an investigation on the M**der in 2022 alongside Al Haq, the human rights organisation based in Palestine.
