The evening will feature live music and dancing with Floyd and the Walkmen, our charismatic Emcee Brian Thomas, highlighted by a powerful special presentation by Major Josh Pitcher, author of Bluegrass Grit.
Major Pitcher always knew he wanted to be a U.S. Army Paratrooper and had trained for that opportunity his whole life. But in a twist of fate, that dream seemed lost — along with his left leg.
At just 23 years old and barely one year into his military career, Josh faced a life-changing decision: retire from the Army or take the harder road and fight to remain on active duty, return to leading soldiers, and continue serving.
His story is one of grit, determination, sacrifice, and refusing to let tragedy define the future.
