Experience the traditions of earlier times as the Redbud Hill Homestead comes to life with 19th-century holiday customs. Enjoy music, holiday crafts and an early visit from Saint Nicholas (great for staged family photos). Sing along with school choirs at the main stage, or listen to the North Harris County Dulcimer Society at Redbud Hill. Explore nature's bounty with Dr. Mark "Merriwether" Vorderbruggen, author of Foraging Texas, learn the art of blacksmithing with Ryan Jones of Dragon's Nest Forge, and sample warm wassail or yaupon tea.
Accessibility: Quiet Zone provided by BCT Behavioral Consulting. Expect a one mile walk on gravel, mulch and paved trails. Hayride or mobile cart parking shuttle available. Please, no pets in festival areas. We suggest you bring a wagon or sturdy stroller for your little kids to ride in. Carpooling or walking/biking suggested.
Volunteers needed; contact the park at [email protected] for information. Concessions and plant sale available from the Jesse Jones Park Volunteers. Great for participants of all ages & homeschool groups. No registration required. Redbud Hill activities close at 5 p.m., and park closes at 6 p.m.
