History meets marine science at Fort Morgan + Mobile Bay!Join Gulf Coast Explorers for our first Homeschool Explorer Day of the fall.
We’ll spend the morning exploring one of Alabama’s most fascinating coastal places through both its history and the life found just offshore.
Students will explore Fort Morgan alongside a local historian, hearing the stories of the people and events connected to the fort. Then we’ll head into Mobile Bay for a hands-on marine science investigation using seine nets to catch, observe, and identify fish, shrimp, crabs, and other marine life.
This isn’t a sit-and-listen field trip. We want students outside, asking questions, getting their feet wet, and discovering the coast for themselves.

Parent or responsible adult required.
Space is limited and advance registration is required.
What to expect: guided Fort Morgan history experience, hands-on seining in Mobile Bay, marine species identification, and plenty of time learning outside where history and science actually happened.
