Cranberry Homeschool Day — Explore Your Senses on the Farm! Come spend the day with us and experience the cranberry harvest with all five senses! You'll see how we traditionally dry harvest our cranberries, hear them bounce across our historic separator, taste fresh cranberry samples, touch berries straight from the bog, and breathe in that crisp, fresh farm air.
We've got some great learning built in too. Our bog talks will walk you through the parts and lifecycle of a cranberry plant, and you can check out Massachusetts Cranberries' vine lifecycle display up close. This year we're excited to welcome back FoxRock Farms, who'll be giving special talks about other local seasonal crops here in Massachusetts — like squash and beach plums — and the pollinators that make it all possible.
Of course, there's plenty to do beyond the lessons. Hop on a wagon ride around the bogs and farm, watch our historic cranberry separator in action alongside a Massachusetts cranberry history talk, or wander through our sensory areas, photo ops, and yard games. There's a picnic area if you want to make a day of it, kid-sized waders for splashing around in our mini bog, and story walks scattered around the farm for the little ones.
And new this year — treat yourself to a Belgian waffle with a special cranberry topping, or warm up with hot cocoa or cider, all from the All Belgium Waffle food truck (available for purchase).
Bring the whole family and make a day of it on the farm!
