About this Event
The event will be held in the larger room at Tea By The Lock. Those who come to the workshop will be welcome to buy refreshements at the lovely tearoom.
The workshop is run by an experienced local artist, who will demonstrate techniques in pencil, ink and paint, and then you will create your own lovely artworks. If you are new to illustration, this is a great workshop for trying out the technique, and if you are already an artist, this would be an opportunity to experiment with combining techniques, or you will be free to get creative and use your own style.
It's a perfect chance to unwind and escape into a world of colour, and create your own artwork - maybe you'll keep it for yourself, or it would make a lovely seasonal gift.
I will provide all materials - and real plant samples - but exactly what we illustrate will depend on what is available locally. If you have any plant that you would like to draw in particular, feel free to bring your own specimin - for example, I have yet to find any misletoe in my garden so if you wanted to illustrate that, and have some, that would be wonderful, and if you have any spare to share - even better!
As we will be working with plants, please be aware there may be allergens and non-edible items on the tables such as berries, nuts or seeds. Please be aware the workshop is aimed at adults - if younger people wish to attend, they must be accompanied by an adult at their discretion and responsibility.
Tea By The Lock is a wonderful venue, and the location itself offers a relaxed atmosphere, is dog-friendly, and is close to both a bus stop and the lock carpark. It is past the caravan park, down the track through the gate, and to the right, by the Lock.

Info: Hazel is an artist who has exhibited her work in Spain and in the UK. She works in a range of mediums and subjects, although her work is often inspired by the landscape and nature of Yorkshire. She is also a trained teacher, and tutor, experienced in arranging workshops.
