Join us as The Hickories Museum in Elyria opens its doors for the holidays. Explore the beautifully decorated rooms of Elyria’s grand 1890s mansion, enjoy light refreshments, and discover music boxes displayed throughout the house.
The afternoon will also feature readings of “A Visit from St. Nicholas” by Clement C. Moore, commonly known as “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
In the spirit of giving, we will be collecting items for Neighborhood Alliance's Senior Baskets. Click here for suggestions: https://myneighborhoodalliance.org/wp-content/uploads/C4C-Family-Basket-Instagram-Post.png
The Hickories was built in 1894 for the family of Arthur Garford, when the population of Elyria was approximately 6,000 and Washington Avenue was an unpaved roadway. Garford, inventor of the padded bicycle seat, was involved in many business ventures and community service.
Due to the historic architecture of the building, there is no elevator in The Hickories and stairs are required. Strollers, large bags, food, and beverages are not permitted inside the museum during events.
Join us for this afternoon of festive fun and holiday cheer!
