DIY Holiday Gifts: Candle & Wax Melt Workshop

Make your holiday gifts extra special with candles and wax melts you create yourself! Join instructor Cari for a beginner-friendly workshop where you’ll make scented candles topped with festive wax shapes and colorful wax melts in fall or holiday designs.
Perfect for holiday gift exchanges, stocking stuffers, housewarming gifts—or a creative afternoon with friends!
Date: Saturday, November 21, 2026
Time: 1:30–4:30 PM
Location: Jade Soap Shop, Dunedin, Florida
Skill Level: Beginner friendly; no experience needed
Minimum Age: 12. Adult supervision is required for minors when handling hot wax.
Class Size: 3-8 students only (A minimum of 3 students is required for the class to run. If the minimum enrollment is not met, you will receive a full refund.)
What You’ll Learn
- The basics of making candles and wax melts
- Candle and wax melt safety
- Creative ways to decorate your wax melts
Make & Take Home
- 6 × 2 oz scented candles OR 3 × 4 oz scented candles, topped with holiday wax shapes
- 4 oz of scented wax melts (about 20 pieces) in fall or holiday shapes
- Gift bags for your creations
- An instruction handout
- Safety stickers, cards, and labels
Materials Provided:
- Choose from colorful candle tins, candle-safe fall and holiday fragrance oils, and candle-safe colorants and additives.
- We’ll use pre-melted premium soy-blend waxes so you can focus on creating and decorating.
- Please note that This workshop does not cover making candles from scratch.
What to Bring & Wear
Please bring a shoebox or another flat container to transport your candles and wax melts.
Wear clothing you don’t mind getting stained. Candle dyes can stain skin and clothing.
Please allow your candles and wax melts to cure for one week before burning or using them in a wax warmer. Plan ahead if you’re making gifts!

Meet Your Instructor
Cari has been making candles and wax melts for seven years and has been a student at Jade Soap Shop for many years. She has previously taught Candle 101 and bath truffle classes at our shop and looks forward to helping you create thoughtful handmade gifts this holiday season.
What you need to know about the workshop/ class:
- No pets or kids allowed in the workshop for safety's sake.
- If you're a high school student and would like to attend, you'd need to provide approval by your parent or guardian.
- No walk-ins or sit-ins will be allowed for safety's sake.
