WHAT WE OFFER:Every Saturday morning, The HOB Give Back offers a free food giveaway for anyone experiencing food insecurity and in need of grocery assistance. Everyone is welcome. We do not turn you away or ask for identification. (Unless we need to verify you are not in the same household -- only one bag per household).
We sort out all of the food donated to us through Good Neighbors (www.goodneighborsfl.org). Each household can select the foods they need. One bag per family, including fresh produce, breads, desserts, and meat. Selections will vary, and some items may have a limit per family.
HOW IT WORKS:
We encourage everyone to arrive at 10:30 AM. We use a lottery system, so no one has to arrive early or stand in line. We hand out "Food Give Away Cards" between 10:45 and 11 AM. Cards will be distributed and selected at random.
Food giveaway begins at 11 AM. If anyone arrives after we start, they will get a smiley face, which means they go last because once we start, we can't let people get new cards.
