HIV Vaccine Awareness Day | HIV Prevention Education & PrEP AwarenessIn recognition of HIV Vaccine Awareness Day, observed annually on May 18, The Hearth Home invites community members to join us in raising awareness about HIV prevention, ongoing vaccine research, and the prevention options currently available.
HIV Vaccine Awareness Day recognizes the contributions of researchers, health professionals, volunteers, and community members working toward the development of a safe and effective preventive HIV vaccine. While an approved preventive HIV vaccine is not yet available, significant advancements in HIV prevention have provided individuals with effective options to reduce their risk of acquiring HIV.
At The Hearth Home, we remain committed to increasing awareness of these prevention options and helping individuals make informed decisions about their sexual health.
We encourage community members to visit The Hearth Home to learn more about pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), including daily oral medications and long-acting injectable options, and how to access PrEP services through Great Lakes Bay Health Centers.
Our team will also be available to provide free, confidential HIV testing, answer questions about HIV prevention, and connect individuals with additional resources and services.
Whether you are exploring PrEP for the first time or interested in learning about advancements in HIV prevention, we welcome you to stop by and speak with our team.
