The Historical Society of Western Virginia invites you to join us at “History Is Served,” our annual event, held October 29, 2026 at Hotel Roanoke. The evening features historian and author Gabe Neville, who will speak on his new book, "The Last Men Standing: The 8th Regiment in the American Revolution," one of the most comprehensive Revolutionary War unit histories on the German and Irish men fighting from the frontier counties of Augusta, Botetourt, Shenandoah, and Fincastle.
