Many important parts of Joliet’s Mexican and Mexican American history are still held in family albums, neighborhood memories, churches, workplaces, and local businesses.History in Our Hands: Mexican Heritage will invite residents to bring photographs, documents, keepsakes, and personal stories to the Joliet Area Historical Museum on Monday, October 12, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
This is community preservation at its most personal. We invite local businesses, schools, churches, civic leaders, cultural organizations, and community partners to share this event with the families they serve.
