Crossbones Graveyard
Crossbones Graveyard might be one of London’s many post-medieval burial grounds, but its mythic origins have woven through the ruins of time to create a multilayered site of ritual, remembrance, and pilgrimage. Thousands of human remains were exhumed for the construction of the Jubilee Line Extension Project in the early 1990s. But thanks to the hard work of local people the remaining bones lay protected below a beautifully wild garden.
