History After Dark Lecture Series: Trains As Industrial Art

Join us for the October episode of History After Dark's Lecture Series, Trains As Industrial Art.
Have you ever thought of a train as a work of art? Undoubtedly the designers who styled the trains did. The Museum houses several pieces of equipment that were designed with looks in mind. The GG1 electric locomotive was a product of the Art Deco era, and the Aerotrain and the E8 locomotive were shaped by the design section of a car manufacturer. Come and hear their stories and those of others.
Brian Buchanan is a lifelong railroader who, in his retirement, wants to Educate, Engage, and Entertain people about his favorite topic – how railroads work – by using Museum artifacts to explain.
Tickets are $8 each, and attendance is free for Museum members. Reservations are encouraged, but not required, for this event.
