About this Event
Aim: To give trainee dental nurses the practical confidence to set up and close down a dental surgery safely, so they're ready for trial days and their first job.
Learning objectives. By the end, you will be able to:
- Set up a surgery for common treatments: exam, filling and scale and polish.
- Identify and lay out basic instruments on a tray in the right order.
- Close down the surgery safely, following the practice's cross-infection routine.
- Explain the surgery routine clearly in an interview or trial day.
Who it's for: Trainee dental nurses, especially those looking for their first job or a better training practice. 24 places.
Agenda:
- 10:30: Welcome, and what a hire-ready nurse looks like
- 10:45: Station rotations: surgery set-up, instrument ID, tray layouts, close-down
- 12:30: Quick-fire quiz, certificate of attendance and the Twoth Match Hire-ready badge
- 12:45: Meet the team, plus app sign-up help
What to bring: Your uniform or comfortable clothes, hair tied back, and a notebook.
Tutor: a qualified dental nurse tutor, to be announced.
