Three Cloudsin lisäksi Martinkirkossa kuullaan kappaleita Resonant Trees -sarjasta, joka koostuu soolocembalo-teoksista.

Hållsten on suorittanut sävellyksen maisterin tutkinnon Tukholman Kuninkaallisessa musiikkikorkeakoulussa. Vuodesta 2022 hän on opiskellut japanilaista suuharmonikkaa shōta Ko Ishikawan johdolla, ja hän on jäsen Kamigaku Ensemblessä, jonka perusti edesmennyt Catherine Christer Hennix (1948–2023).

ARTISTS:
MICHAELA TURCEROVÁ
Michaela Turcerová is a Slovak composer and saxophonist who searches for the hidden and otherwise unheard timbres of musical instruments. In her solo project IN FLUX, she interweaves modifications of the alto saxophone’s body, surreal amplification, external sound objects, and sine waves into a hybrid percussive organism. This transformed sonic object is placed within an intimate electroacoustic space, freed from traditional expectations, history, and the cultural identity of the instrument.

LÉO DUPLEIX
Léo Dupleix crafts patiently unfolding, lush music, where timbre and the use of specific tuning and intonation systems take center stage. His compositions span a wide range of instrumentations—blending acoustic and electronic elements—always in pursuit of emotional simplicity and refinement.
His 2024 LP, Resonant Trees, released on Black Truffle Records, was hailed as « an album to sit back and marvel at, and surely one of the most stark and beautiful instrumental records of the year. » It also received the Grand Prix de l’Académie Charles Cros for Best Experimental Release the same year.
For this concert, Léo will be performing « Three Clouds », a composition for harpsichord and tape commissioned by INA-GRM.
« Three clouds, for three repeated harpsichord chords and a crossing of borderless cloud layers—cumulus, cumulonimbus, and altocumulus.
It is also about color, especially the hues of the falling evening: the orange and red we know so well, our everyday, still and quiet apocalypse. »
This piece will be surrounded by works from the « Resonant Trees » series of compositions for solo harpsichord.

MATTIAS HÅLLSTEN
Mattias Hållsten (1997) is a Swedish composer and musician. His music has a special emphasis on precise intonation and the ways harmonicity can be manifested in the listening experience, realised in improvised, notated as well as recorded musical contexts. In addition to a Master's degree in composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Sweden, he is since 2022 studying the Japanese mouth organ shō with Ko Ishikawa, and is active as a performer of both his own works as well as in various Swedish and international ensembles. He is since 2023 a member of the Kamigaku Ensemble, initiated by the late Catherine Christer Hennix (1948-2023), and is featured on recordings by, among others, Maria W Horn, Luka Aron and Masayoshi Fujita.
Hållsten released the album Breathing, bowing (2023) on the Stockholm-based label Thanatosis, which included music for viola da gamba and shō. The album was nominated in the category "Best experimental music" at Manifestgalan 2024.
