An Initiative from Rishikesh to Devprayag | October 13th – 15th, 2026

As the crisp autumn air settles over the Himalayas, high-altitude villages and holy riverbanks face a sharp drop in temperatures. This October, step up for a high-impact, 3-day spiritual service (Sewa) journey. Starting from the spiritual hub of Rishikesh and traveling deep into the mountains of Devprayag, this hands-on, grassroots initiative is dedicated to serving vulnerable mountain communities, feeding hungry stray animals, and restoring the sanctity of ancient shrines through physical service (Shramdaan).

🤝 Core Pillars of Service

  • 🧥 Blanket & Cold Relief: Bypass chaotic roadside handouts to personally deliver heavy-duty winter blankets to marginalized cliffside families, night watchmen, and meditating sadhus living in riverside caves.
  • 🐾 Animal Care (Animal Sewa): Distribute bulk nutritional feed and basic first aid to stray dogs, cows, and working mules along NH58 to build their strength before the harsh winter peaks.
  • 🧹 Temple Preservation (Shramdaan): Restore historic spiritual spaces by clearing plastic waste and debris from the ancient stone steps of the Devprayag Sangam and the Raghunathji Temple ridge.

📅 The 3-Day Journey

  • Day 1 (Oct 13): Rishikesh Base Camp – Begin with an orientation and team briefing at 9:00 AM. Spend the day sorting blankets into distribution-ready kits and loading supplies, concluding with an evening Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat to set collective intentions.
  • Day 2 (Oct 14): The Mountain Ascent – Depart Rishikesh at 7:00 AM up the scenic NH58 corridor. Distribute blankets and feed strays en route before arriving in Devprayag for targeted evening distributions in remote hillside pockets.
  • Day 3 (Oct 15): Shramdaan & High-Altitude Closing – Start at 6:30 AM with a cleanliness drive around the holy Devprayag Sangam. Travel to the Chandrabadani Temple ridge for a final distribution before a reflection session and return to Rishikesh by 3:00 PM.

🎒 Volunteer Essentials

  • Trekking Shoes: Sturdy footwear with excellent grip is essential for navigating steep, rocky mountain staircases.
  • Layered Winter Wear: While days are warm, night temperatures drop sharply. Pack a heavy winter jacket, a beanie, and gloves.
  • Reusable Water Flask: Crucial for staying hydrated while completely eliminating single-use plastic waste during our mountain cleanups.

🤝 Two Ways to Participate: Tan & Dhan

Every devotee of Sanatan Dharma has the opportunity to earn the blessings of this holy seva on the banks of the sacred Ganga:

1. Become a Ground Warrior (Physical Sewa - Tan)

Step onto the sacred ghats of Haridwar and serve from the frontlines. Experience the profound fulfillment of protecting lives and upholding Dharma through direct action.

  • Operational Note: To ensure disciplined crowd management and targeted deployment across the ghats, exact assembly points and route maps will be shared directly with confirmed registered volunteers.

2. Become a Sewa Backer (Financial Contribution - Dhan)

If distance or professional duties keep you from being physically present, you can power the ground mission remotely. Contribute "As per your Shraddha" (according to your faith and capacity). 100% of your contribution is directed toward heavy thermal blankets, medical kits, reflective animal coats, and hot meal preparation.
