WAKING UP WITH A SOUND: PURITY OF CONDUCT.Purity is more than sexual abstinence. It is the condition of the heart, the direction of the mind, the consecration of the body, the discipline of the tongue, the purity of the eyes, and the alignment of our entire lives with the will of God.
Romans 12:1–2 (NKJV) calls us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, and to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
You can abstain sexually and still need purity in your thoughts, speech, motives, and attitudes. True purity begins within and produces an outward lifestyle that honours God.
As we celebrate the gift of worship, let us remember that talent alone is not enough. The gifts God has placed in us must be nurtured, our skills developed, and our character shaped by His Word. Whether you sing, preach, lead, create, or serve, pursue excellence while allowing God to work on the vessel.
2 Timothy 2:21 reminds us that a person who purifies themselves becomes “a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use.”
Don't just desire to be gifted; desire to be a vessel of honor. Let your talent be refined, your heart be pure, and your conduct reflect the God you serve.
May our gifts glorify God, our lives honour Him, and our service be acceptable in His sight.
Purity in character. Excellence in service. A life set apart for God.
