What ethical questions arise when colleges and universities sponsor American football? This talk explores the relationship between higher education, the risks of chronic traumatic encephalopathy and other brain injuries, institutional responsibilities, and student autonomy. By examining the purposes of higher education and the costs and benefits of college football, visiting assistant professor Alex Wolf-Root considers whether the sport is compatible with the mission of colleges and universities.
