Join IATC guru Tom Anderson for a hike to explore the history of the High Point Mill and its logging operation on the slopes of West Tiger Mountain. Starting at the High Point Trailhead, we will hike up the High Point Trail to the Tiger Mountain Trail, and finally onto the West Tiger Railroad Grade Trail with occasional stops to reflect on the remnants of a logging operation from a century ago.Come enjoy beautiful scenery, various flora and fauna, and a bit of history. Hikers will also get an up-close look at several logging artifacts.
Trailhead: Meet right off I-90 exit 20 near the white gate at SE 79th St. & 270th Ave. SE (see map insert).
Parking: Parking is on the shoulder of the road in the vicinity of the intersection. *Do not park in the main High Point lot.*
Trails: High Point Trail, Tiger Mountain Trail, West Tiger RR Grade Trail
Mileage: 7.5 miles
Elevation: 1600 feet
Time: 6 hours
Registration required. No pets allowed.
