About this Event
Whilst on this tailored tour of Regent's Park, participants will get closer than ever to some of the most secretive and elusive life forms of Regent’s Park: fungi! Participants will be equipped with magnifying lenses and guided by either Linda Seward or Gemma Hindi to observe the crossroads, intersections, and exchanges between fungi and mushrooms and their adjacent plants and trees.
At the end of the tour, there will be an optional stop at the Wildlife Pen, where participants will be encouraged to bury biodegradable notes and commit them to the natural cycles of life, decay, and regrowth, in which fungi play a central role.
This event is part of Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, taking place 5-14 November 2026. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
