Hertsmere Works, in conjunction with Hertsmere Borough Council, would like to invite you to join us for our autumn networking event, on Thursday15th October 2026 , at Wyllyotts Theatre, Wyllyotts Place, Potters Bar EN6 2HZ, from 11am to 1.30pm, for a chance to meet like minded businesses and build valuable working relationships.
We are delighted to welcome John Acton from Peer2Peer Global to join us.
John Acton left school at 16 with no clear path into business. What he did have was a refusal to stay still. He put himself through night school, earned a postgraduate diploma in Marketing, and went on to become Executive Vice President of the global DPD Group, where the business grew from £4bn to £9bn. He will tell you, unprompted, that he did not do that alone.
After leaving DPD he spent years working with hundreds of businesses, from start-ups to large corporations, on strategic and critical thinking. In 2017 he co-founded Peer2Peer Global, now the UK's fastest growing peer advisory board network. In 2025, fellow business owners and entrepreneurs voted him National Business Leader of the Year at the SME Business Awards.
