In the second year of Queen Rose Art House’s Experimental Film and Video workshop, participants delved into Joseph Campbell’s hero’s journey, utilizing Oklahoma as the backdrop, subject, and/or character, akin to the previous year. However, this project distinguished itself by fostering a collaborative film. Hero Journeys 2 commenced as an exquisite corpse, where participants communicated solely the beginning and end of their respective segments, preceding and following each other. As the conversations progressed, participants initiated independent meetings outside the workshop to share their progress on individual segments. Given that there are twelve plot points in Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey and nine participants, the instructor, Kalup Linzy, decided to contribute by completing the three remaining plot points.
