About this Event
Are you someone who keeps thinking about a film long after it's over?
Join us at The Frame Lab, a community of curious minds who believe the best films don't end when the credits roll; they begin with the conversation after.
October Horror Special: Film Discussion: Hereditary (Ari Aster, 2018)
A mother struggling to hold her family together, a house full of secrets, and a legacy nobody exactly asked to inherit. Hereditary starts as a story about grief and slowly reveals something much darker underneath - turning family history into the ultimate horror story.
We’ll be diving into themes like:
- Grief as horror: Is the supernatural really the source of the terror, or is it the family’s grief?
- Generational trauma: How much of ourselves do we inherit from our families?
- Fate vs. free will: Are the characters making choices, or are they trapped in a toxic cycle?
- Ari Aster’s style: From the meticulously constructed house to the sound design, performances and camera movements, how does he create that mood of dread?
- And more!
Bring your thoughts, questions, and your honest reactions - what scared you, what disturbed you, and what you couldn’t stop thinking about. Let’s unpack it together.
The Frame Lab meets monthly.
