Two Sahrawi women. One in exile, one under occupation. Two perspectives on the struggle for freedom in Western Sahara.Join Global Aktion for a public meeting with Suelma Beiruk and Mina Baali, sharing their personal stories from Africa’s last colony.
Suelma Beiruk will speak about growing up in the shadow of Morocco’s 1975 invasion, life in exile in the Sahrawi refugee camps, and the central role women have played in building and leading their society through decades of displacement.
Mina Baali will speak about life under occupation today: arrests, police violence, and the personal cost of standing up for human rights. Her story offers an insight into the courage and determination of women who continue to resist repression.
Together, they will explore what the unresolved struggle for self-determination means for Sahrawi women and families—and why it should matter to people in Denmark and across Europe.
Come to listen, ask questions, and join the conversation about solidarity, human rights, and the Sahrawi people’s right to decide their own future.
